March 7, 2012

Madeliene 1

Name: Madeleine Krass’15
Geneva, Ill.
You may have seen me:
In the pool, at the library, asleep on an 840 couch.
What are a few of your favorite things? Baking, museums, pugs, old movies, my wonderful teammates!
Favorite meal?
Malai Kofta at my favorite Indian restaurant. Also black-bean burgers!
What can’t you live without?
I really have no idea. I hope that I never find out, haha.
Who are your top-three fantasy dinner party guests?
Audrey Hepburn, Thomas Jefferson, Agatha Christie.
What gets you up in the morning?
Usually my roommate.
Who are your heroes?
Definitely my parents. I've had a wonderful life thus far, and it's completely thanks to them. They worked really hard to be able to provide me with the life that I have; now that I'm older I can appreciate all the sacrifices they've made over the years. I'm really fortunate to know that no matter what happens, I can always go home.
Which talent would you most like to have?
I really wish I had better balance. I can't ice-skate or roller-skate for the life of me. I'm not even a huge fan of bike-riding.
Beatles or Stones?
Always the Beatles. The first real concert that I ever went to was Ringo Starr!
What’s the number one thing on your bucket list?
I've wanted to go to India since I was a kid. Like many countries, it has been damaged by corruption, but I find the rich history and culture intriguing and very beautiful. Also, I want to see all of the movies on AFI's 100 Greatest Movies list (I've seen 42).
Proudest moment?
When I was in high school I helped to plan an event in which some of the Lost Boys of Sudan came and gave a talk at my high school. I hadn't even realized that they were living in my area, and getting the chance to listen to them share their experiences was both humbling and incredibly inspirational.
What are you most looking forward to?
There are so many things, but I really can't wait to see my pug again!
