Meet: Hilary Dickinson, communications specialist

January 17, 2012

Name: Hilary Dickinson
Occupation: Communications specialist in the Office of Communications and Marketing.
Hometown/residence: Roscoe, Ill.
You may have seen me: Walking around campus with my notepad, sitting in your class to gather information for a magazine article, or talking to your class (if you're in Shawn Gillen's journalism class).
What are a few of your favorite things? Animals, writing, pop culture, the color turquoise, New York City, and fashion.
What three items go in your desert island backpack? My iPhone and my dogs, Riley and Randy. They're chubby little mal-shis (half-shih tzu, half-maltese), but I'll make them fit!
What’s on your desert island jukebox? Coldplay, Snow Patrol, Adele, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Maroon 5, and OneRepublic.
What can’t you live without? Dogs.
Any advice? My new favorite inspirational saying is, "Make it happen!"
What do you do in your free time? Write, watch TV and movies, read, shop, and spend time with family and friends.
What gets you up in the morning? My police siren alarm ringtone (yep, that'll wake you up!).
Which talent would you most like to have? Predicting the future.
Beatles or Stones? Beatles.
What’s the number one thing on your bucket list? Write a book.
What are you most looking forward to? Going to Europe in the spring!
