Middle College makeover quite nearly complete

The scaffolding has come down, and Middle College—its cupola in particular—is looking better than ever. As reported in the fall/winter 2011 issue of Beloit College Magazine, the project included removing rotting wood, scraping paint, replacing and cleaning window glass, repairing broken architectural ornaments, and, finally, applying a fresh coat of white paint. The spiffed-up end result cuts a striking figure for anyone coming onto campus from Chapin Street; the project was also finished just in time to play backdrop to the college’s campuswide photo.

The cupola restoration was made possible by a gift from William Corlis’37—you can read more about him here.
