Meet Karin Carlson’12, Talking Heads fan

October 3, 2011

Meet Karin Carlson’12, Talking Heads fanName: Karin Carlson’12
Hometown/residence: Wausau, Wis., by way of Oklahoma
Major: Communication
You may have seen me: either in Java Joint or WBCR. Possibly running somewhere in between the two, I really should be the R.A. of Pearsons.
What’s on your desert island jukebox? Talking Heads discography, Los Campesinos! (they're kind of miserable but I can still dance to it, its the type of attitude I'd want to have if I was stuck on a desert island), something stupid like NOW 1-8
Favorite meal? Anyone who knows me knows I'm a little bit obsessed with doner kebabs. It’s almost been a year since I had one last, its been rough.
What gets you up in the morning? Having to walk to my 8:45 a.m. class in the Hendricks Center.
Beatles or Stones? Stones
What’s your favorite hidden gem here in the area? I think the Beloit Public Library is really underrated. It's one of the nicest libraries I've been in; I've wasted many hours watching 30 Rock DVDS I've gotten from there.
If you were auditioning for American Idol, what song would you sing? The 2000 classic "Aaron's Party (Come Get It)" by Aaron Carter.
What are you most looking forward to? I'm going to go see This Must Be the Band recreate Stop Making Sense this weekend. Right now I can only look ahead one week at a time.
