Alumnus describes "sisterhood" of ants to NPR host

July 22, 2011 at 3:01 pm

Entomologist, photographer, and all-around adventurer Mark Moffett'79 is talking about ants again. But that's not unusual. Through his decades-long career, he's studied ants across the globe, and even inspired the names of certain species of animals.

In a July 22 episode of National Public Radio show "Fresh Air," he discussed his work with host Terry Gross, describing ants as a "sisterhood.
