Don't be confused if your computer seems to be acting a little funky this week.
It's just that time of year when you will need to complete the campus network re-registration process on your computer--for security purposes. Until you re-register the internet will not be accessible to you from campus devices.
The first time you come to campus and log into the network after 11 p.m. on Wednesday (June 1), open an internet browser (Firefox, Internet Explorer, Chrome, Safari, etc.). In most cases, the registration page should appear automatically.
If it does not, you may go to it by typing in the following URL: http://netreg.beloit.edu/. As noted on the registration page, you should use your email username, which is the part of your email address that appears to the left of the @sign. Please do not include "@beloit.edu". The password to be used is the same as your email password.
As part of the registration process, computers with Windows operating systems will be automatically scanned for specific vulnerabilities. If a vulnerability is detected, the Microsoft website will be launched, and it will be necessary to apply the operating system updates. Once this is completed, the registration process will work successfully.
Note: If you are currently off campus, and will not be returning immediately, please remember to perform this process upon your return. In the meantime, access to Beloit College Google e-mail from off-campus will still be available and will not be affected by this process.
Please contact the IT Help Desk at ext. 2067 with any questions or problems that you may encounter.
