Creative writing candidate reads, offers Q & A today

April 22, 2011

Poet and playwright Nick Lantz will read from his work and take questions at 12:30 p.m. today (Friday) in the WAC South Lounge. Pizza will be provided.

The English Department is currently searching for a visiting professor of creative writing/poetry as Fran Abbate’s one-year sabbatical replacement, and Lantz—currently an Emerging Writer Lecturer at Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania—is a candidate for the position.

Lantz has won numerous prizes and poetry fellowships, and has published two books of poetry in 2010: We Don’t Know We Don’t Know[check title] (Graywolf Press), and The Lightning That Strikes the Neighbors’ House (University of Wisconsin Press). Several of his plays have been produced in Portland, Ore. and Madison, Wis.
