Second Annual Giving Day a Great Success

The Beloit College community is generous and showed its heart and soul during its second annual Giving Day on Wednesday, April 20, 2016. In just 24 hours, the college raised over $65,000 from more than 450 supporters.

Not only did the gifts far surpass the original goal of $25,000, the event also raised $25,000 more than last year. Beloit is touched by the fantastic response received from supporters and is grateful to be backed by such a strong foundation of alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends. These gifts help make ‪#‎BeloitPossible for the next generation of Turtles, Bucs, and Beloiters.

The unconditional support, enthusiastically offered by our alumni, parents, and friends is a tribute to the character of our community, and the value that we all collectively recognize in the mission we seek to advance. We at Beloit are privileged to have a community so willing to invest in the future of our great institution, and our students. For this, we are grateful,” said Mark Wold’95, Senior Director of Alumni & Parent Relations and Annual Support.

Thank you to all who supported Beloit College’s second annual Giving Day. As College President Scott Bierman often says, it’s “turtles all the way down.”

Museum Employment Opportunities

 Logan Museum:
Greeting guests and talking about information regarding the exhibitions in the Museum, and events happening on campus, and in the city of Beloit
-Selling at the Museums Gift Shop.
-Safeguarding objects on display from theft, vandalism, or accidental damage.  

Wright Museum:
-Greeting guests and talking about information regarding the exhibitions in the Museum, and events happening on campus, and in the city  of Beloit.
-Safeguarding objects on display from theft, vandalism or accidental damage.
-Working with Museum Staff  by running errands, helping in collections, preparing galleries for exhibits, and doing various odd jobs.  

Must have:
-A sense of responsibility and dependability.
-Punctuality and responsibility for scheduled hours.
-A courteous, positive and helpful attitude, ability to interact with visitors and talk on the telephone.
-A clean and neat appearance, an enthusiasm for work and an overall positive attitude.
-Some retail experience helpful (Logan Museum)



Roxie Award time

The Roxie Alexander Memorial Award is given each year on Honors Day to woman who has completed her first or second year at Beloit College, and who is:

  • An international student
  • A first-generation college student
  • A member of an under-represented group

The student must have demonstrated outstanding scholarship or worthwhile community service; faculty and staff members can nominate a student by submitting the candidate’s name, class year, and answering the questions below via email to Cynthia McCown at by April 4.

  •   In what capacity do you know the student?
  • How long have you known the student?
  • Is the student  an international student, a first generation college student, or a minority student/student of color?
  • How has the student demonstrated academic excellence?
  • How has the student demonstrated worthwhile community service?


From HR: Flex-spending claims due March 31

The final date to claim reimbursement for 2010 Medical or Dependent Care expenses is Thursday, March 31, 2011.

Check your account balance - You can access the balance of your personal flexible spending account on-line at or by telephone at 1-800-346-2126.   

File your claim - 2010 Medical or Dependent Care reimbursement claims must be received by Employee Benefits Corporation (EBC) no later than Thursday, March 31, 2011.  (If you are mailing your claims, please make sure you mail early - mailing claims on March 31 is too late.) Claims may also be submitted by fax to 1-608-831-4790 with receipts. Please make sure to include the claim form and all supporting documents with your fax.
