Second Annual Giving Day a Great Success

The Beloit College community is generous and showed its heart and soul during its second annual Giving Day on Wednesday, April 20, 2016. In just 24 hours, the college raised over $65,000 from more than 450 supporters.

Not only did the gifts far surpass the original goal of $25,000, the event also raised $25,000 more than last year. Beloit is touched by the fantastic response received from supporters and is grateful to be backed by such a strong foundation of alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends. These gifts help make ‪#‎BeloitPossible for the next generation of Turtles, Bucs, and Beloiters.

The unconditional support, enthusiastically offered by our alumni, parents, and friends is a tribute to the character of our community, and the value that we all collectively recognize in the mission we seek to advance. We at Beloit are privileged to have a community so willing to invest in the future of our great institution, and our students. For this, we are grateful,” said Mark Wold’95, Senior Director of Alumni & Parent Relations and Annual Support.

Thank you to all who supported Beloit College’s second annual Giving Day. As College President Scott Bierman often says, it’s “turtles all the way down.”

Ready for retirement? These planning sessions can help

This spring Beloit College will be offering sessions on topics related to retirement planning. These programs are designed to provide you with valuable information and help you plan for your retirement income needs, whether you are just beginning your career, at mid-career, or thinking about enjoying life post-career.

All faculty and staff are invited and encouraged to attend. Spouses and partners are also welcome. To help plan, human resources asks (but does not require) that you sign up. Times, locations, and more detailed descriptions of each session are listed below.

Financial Planning – A financial counselor from Consumer Credit Counseling Service will provide information about personal financial planning including:  hints for maximizing the power of your money, avoiding financial mistakes, making your financial dreams happen, and staying on track.

Understanding Social Security and Medicare – A representative from the Social Security Administration will offer guidance on retirement income and medical benefits, disability income, survivor benefits, online services, and making the most of your Social Security benefits.

TIAA-CREF Group Information Sessions

Investment Strategies – This session will focus on goal-setting, investment market trends, reducing risk by diversifying, understanding your fund choices and asset allocations, and model portfolios. Wednesday, March 30, 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., Science Center 101

Income Options – For employees approaching retirement, this session will cover investment strategies and market trends with a focus on how to use plan features and income options in a way that best suits your individual vision of retirement. Wednesday, March 30, 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m., Science Center 101

 

TIAA-CREF  Individual Sessions
Learn more about making financial decisions that are right for you.  Schedule an appointment today with a TIAA-CREF consultant who will answer questions about your financial matters and provide guidance about your retirement planning. This individual counseling session will help you plan for your retirement by:

  • Providing objective advice and asset allocation based on your individual needs
  • Selecting your TIAA-CREF options
  • Developing or maintaining your own strategy
  • Reviewing your retirement income options
