Second Annual Giving Day a Great Success

The Beloit College community is generous and showed its heart and soul during its second annual Giving Day on Wednesday, April 20, 2016. In just 24 hours, the college raised over $65,000 from more than 450 supporters.

Not only did the gifts far surpass the original goal of $25,000, the event also raised $25,000 more than last year. Beloit is touched by the fantastic response received from supporters and is grateful to be backed by such a strong foundation of alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends. These gifts help make ‪#‎BeloitPossible for the next generation of Turtles, Bucs, and Beloiters.

The unconditional support, enthusiastically offered by our alumni, parents, and friends is a tribute to the character of our community, and the value that we all collectively recognize in the mission we seek to advance. We at Beloit are privileged to have a community so willing to invest in the future of our great institution, and our students. For this, we are grateful,” said Mark Wold’95, Senior Director of Alumni & Parent Relations and Annual Support.

Thank you to all who supported Beloit College’s second annual Giving Day. As College President Scott Bierman often says, it’s “turtles all the way down.”

The Buc Report: Just so you know...

February 28, 2011 at 6:52 am

The Buccaneer track and field team finished up their indoor season this past weekend at the Midwest Conference Championships in Iowa and are now head toward the outdoor season.

Head Coach Brian Bliese is in his 11th season with the team and, despite not hosting a home meet in 14 years (since 1997), has produced some outstanding results.

In the previous ten outdoor seasons, four NCAA Division III All-Americans (Stephanie Muller, Djuvane Browne twice, and Megan Maure) have come from the ranks of ten national qualifiers. On the conference level, 26 have earned MWC Championships, while well over 100 have earned All-Conference recognition.

The Buccaneers begin their 2011 season in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina over spring break. Included in their trip will be competition at the Coastal Carolina University Invite in Conway, South Carolina, on Friday and Saturday, March 11-12.  The first northern meet is at Augustana College on March 19.

The Buccaneer softball and baseball teams are in Florida for the Rebel Spring Games and Russ Matt Central Florida Invite, respectively, beginning next weekend to get their 2011 seasons going. The softball squad will play ten games at three different sites in Kissimmee while the Baseball team has eight games scheduled in and around Winter Haven. Baseball will also play three JV games.

Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track & Field competed at the MWC Indoor Championships at Grinnell College, with the women finishing seventh and the men eighth. Amani Edwards earned All-Conference honors with a third-place finish in the shot put.
