What are a few of your favorite things? Micro-brewed beer, sci-fi movies, cats, history books (American: antebellum and Civil War eras), really bad monster movies, Packer football, meals with good friends that last for hours, my job, hot summer days
What three items go in your desert island backpack? Sunscreen, Corona and some limes.
What’s on your desert island jukebox? Rock – Disturbed, Sevendust, Nonpoint, Drowning Pool, etc.
Favorite meal? Spice-rubbed pork tenderloin with mashed potatoes, maple-bourbon mustard sauce and a caramelized onion and bacon relish (and a great bottle of red wine) at The Dining Room in Monticello.
What can’t you live without? My reading glasses, or at least one student to read things for me.
What do you do in your free time? What is this “free time?” I’m consulting with a new museum startup in Rockford and I volunteer with two other museum projects in Rockford.
If you could be reincarnated, what person/thing would you like to be? I’d like to be a cat. Sit around all day in the sun, eat, stroll to the litter box once and a while, sleep, get my head scratched, and torment the dog. What's not to like about that?
What gets you up in the morning? Godsmack’s “Straight Out of Line.” Every morning for the last three years.
Which talent would you most like to have/Name a talent you have? I can tell you everything there is to know about sock monkeys. (I wish I were kidding.)
Beatles or Stones? Zepplin
What’s your favorite hidden gem here in the area? Rockford (Yes, I said Rockford. There are actually a lot of cool things to do in Rockford)
What’s the number one thing on your bucket list? A cruise in the Aegean with frequent stops for food and wine.
Proudest/most memorable life changing moment? Watching my son walk away and into the dorm and a new chapter in both our lives when I took him to college for the first time in August.
If you were auditioning for American Idol, what song would you sing?  “Feelings.” (And if you get that reference you’re old and have bad taste in television)
