'How Gila monster spit will save the world': bio candidate lecture

Join the biology department for FREE PIZZA, a chance to learn, and an opportunity to participate in selecting a biology professor for the fall 2011 semester as Katie Johnson, Ph.D, will present a research talk on  “How Gila monster spit will save the world: The role of glucagon-like peptide-1 in novel diabetes therapies” today (Monday) at 12:30 in Science Center 349.

Dr. Johnson, Visiting Assistant Professor of Biology, Beloit College, is interviewing for the Biology Department’s permanent position. Johnson will be available to talk informally with students after the talk and at 4:10 in SC 349. The department values your input; one other candidate lecture will follow, on Dec. 6.
