Second Annual Giving Day a Great Success

The Beloit College community is generous and showed its heart and soul during its second annual Giving Day on Wednesday, April 20, 2016. In just 24 hours, the college raised over $65,000 from more than 450 supporters.

Not only did the gifts far surpass the original goal of $25,000, the event also raised $25,000 more than last year. Beloit is touched by the fantastic response received from supporters and is grateful to be backed by such a strong foundation of alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends. These gifts help make ‪#‎BeloitPossible for the next generation of Turtles, Bucs, and Beloiters.

The unconditional support, enthusiastically offered by our alumni, parents, and friends is a tribute to the character of our community, and the value that we all collectively recognize in the mission we seek to advance. We at Beloit are privileged to have a community so willing to invest in the future of our great institution, and our students. For this, we are grateful,” said Mark Wold’95, Senior Director of Alumni & Parent Relations and Annual Support.

Thank you to all who supported Beloit College’s second annual Giving Day. As College President Scott Bierman often says, it’s “turtles all the way down.”

Third time's the charm for Bucs Volleyball?

Buccaneers Set for MWC Volleyball Tournament

The Beloit College Volleyball team is looking at the third time being the charm as they get ready for the 2010 Midwest Conference Volleyball Tournament, which will be played this weekend at Monmouth College.

Midwest VolleyballThe Bucs enter the tourney as the #2 seed for the third straight season. But, unlike the last two tournaments, they want to turn that #2 into a #1 and secure a bid to the NCAA Division III Volleyball Tournament, which goes to the Tournament Champion.

In each of the last two seasons Beloit has won their semifinal match and advanced to the championship, only to be turned away by #1 seed St. Norbert College on their home court in De Pere. This year is different.

The Buccaneers open against #3 seed Lake Forest College in the first semifinal on Friday (Nov. 5) at 4:30 p.m. Conference Champion and #1 seed Monmouth College plays #4 seed St. Norbert in the second semifinal at 7 p.m. The winners will meet for the NCAA Division III automatic bid on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m.

Beloit fell to Lake Forest 3-0 in Lake Forest way back on Sept. 24 in the MWC opener for both squads. They dropped a 3-1 decision to Monmouth on Oct. 1 in Flood Arena, but haven't lost an MWC match since, including a 3-0 win over St. Norbert in the regular season finale last Saturday in De Pere.

The Bucs secured their spot in the tourney last week with three straight 3-0 wins, over Ripon College, Lawrence University, and St. Norbert, the last two on the road.  They head into the tournament with wins in ten of their last 12 matches.
