Learning Enrichment and Disability Services Office is looking for students who are reliable, creative, academically strong, can keep confidential information private and would like a great job for the Spring 2011 semester. We are seeking Learning Assistants in the areas of:
1) Tutor Training and Observation (tutoring experience required),
2) Publicity (creativity required), and
3) Academic Enrichment Activities (knowledge of good study strategies required).
Learning Assistants work 6 - 8 hours per week in the office (some evenings required; many evenings for the Tutor Trainer) and assist in providing services for this office, the Dean of Students, and the Initiatives Program. Attendance at bi-monthly staff meetings is required. Training in January before classes begin is required.
If you know of such students, please send them our way. In addition, if you know of a student who will be studying abroad during the spring semester, but would be a good candidate for the following fall semester, please have them apply now as well. Applications are available Mon. Oct. 4 and will be due Wed. Oct. 20th, the first Wednesday after break. Also, applicants will be required to complete a reference form, so be prepared to complete one for those that you refer!
We appreciate your referrals!

P.S. For those of you wondering about the on-line SALT (Student Affairs Leadership Team) applications, we are conducting a separate application process this semester as the other student affairs areas were not sure that they would have any demand and the WebAdvisor application is in flux.
