Second Annual Giving Day a Great Success

The Beloit College community is generous and showed its heart and soul during its second annual Giving Day on Wednesday, April 20, 2016. In just 24 hours, the college raised over $65,000 from more than 450 supporters.

Not only did the gifts far surpass the original goal of $25,000, the event also raised $25,000 more than last year. Beloit is touched by the fantastic response received from supporters and is grateful to be backed by such a strong foundation of alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends. These gifts help make ‪#‎BeloitPossible for the next generation of Turtles, Bucs, and Beloiters.

The unconditional support, enthusiastically offered by our alumni, parents, and friends is a tribute to the character of our community, and the value that we all collectively recognize in the mission we seek to advance. We at Beloit are privileged to have a community so willing to invest in the future of our great institution, and our students. For this, we are grateful,” said Mark Wold’95, Senior Director of Alumni & Parent Relations and Annual Support.

Thank you to all who supported Beloit College’s second annual Giving Day. As College President Scott Bierman often says, it’s “turtles all the way down.”

Put your best blue and gold forward

You'll see them on the mounds, in your classes, circling "the wall"  and reminiscing about the good'ole days: Over 400 alumni and friends of Beloit College will be returning to campus on Friday. In celebration of their return, why not welcome our alumni back in one simple, but important, way?

Tomorrow--Friday, Sept. 24--proudly wear your blue and gold.

hoodieNeed inspiration? The Beloit College bookstore has got dozens of spiritwear styles in a variety of inspired hues, everything from accessories to sweatpants.

Since you'll already be dressed for the occasion, how about getting in on some of the many events occurring all day tomorrow? Starting at 4 p.m., choose from a poetry reading by Margaret Ronda'98 in the Poetry Garden, a panel presentation by the Miller Upton Interns in Richardson, or the many department receptions and open houses.

On Saturday, we hope you'll join us whenever you're able to reconnect with and meet our alumni. Some things to try and see:

10 a.m.-1 p.m.
48th Olde English Classic (which includes the 10 a.m. appearance by President Bierman's "Team Beloit," who will be taking on faculty and staff from Lawrence and Ripon)
Leeson Park

11 a.m.-11:30 a.m.
The Parade of Reunion Classes will march down College Street. Come out and watch!
College Street on the residential side of campus

1 p.m.
Football game vs. Knox College
Strong Stadium

2 p.m.
50 years of Study Abroad: Alumni panel discussion
(A reception will follow at 3 p.m. in the Atrium.)
