The Stateline Literacy Council- Beloit, Inc. is partnering with Wisconsin Literacy for its annual 1200 Tutors in 12 Weeks campaign. Stateline is aiming to recruit and train new tutors to help Wisconsin Literacy meet its ambitious statewide goal of 1,200 tutors. The kick-off of this 12- week campaign is International Literacy Day, taking place today, Sept. 8.
Stateline Literacy Council is one of 56 community-based literacy programs in the state of Wisconsin. These organizations collectively seek to provide adults with basic literacy skills. Stateline Literacy Council – Beloit Inc. is offering several tutor-training sessions throughout the campaign, which starts today and ends Dec. 1.
Tutors typically spend about two hours a week assisting adult learners in improving their literacy skills, and the next training session will take place Sunday, Sept., 12 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
