Second Annual Giving Day a Great Success

The Beloit College community is generous and showed its heart and soul during its second annual Giving Day on Wednesday, April 20, 2016. In just 24 hours, the college raised over $65,000 from more than 450 supporters.

Not only did the gifts far surpass the original goal of $25,000, the event also raised $25,000 more than last year. Beloit is touched by the fantastic response received from supporters and is grateful to be backed by such a strong foundation of alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends. These gifts help make ‪#‎BeloitPossible for the next generation of Turtles, Bucs, and Beloiters.

The unconditional support, enthusiastically offered by our alumni, parents, and friends is a tribute to the character of our community, and the value that we all collectively recognize in the mission we seek to advance. We at Beloit are privileged to have a community so willing to invest in the future of our great institution, and our students. For this, we are grateful,” said Mark Wold’95, Senior Director of Alumni & Parent Relations and Annual Support.

ATHLETICS: Sports seasons underway today!

The 2010-11 Buccaneer Sports season gets going in a big way on today, with a full slate of action in the opening week.

Women’s Tennis officially opens the year when they host Loras College on today  (Monday) and Edgewood College on Tuesday at the Strong Complex Tennis Courts.  Both matches begin at 4:30 p.m.

On Wednesday, while Volleyball and Men’s Soccer get their seasons underway on the road, Women’s Soccer hosts UW-La Crosse at the Strong Complex Soccer Field at 4:00 p.m. Volleyball is at the Carroll Triangular in Waukesha and Men’s Soccer is at Wisconsin Lutheran on Wednesday night.

After a quiet day on Thursday, Women’s Tennis hosts UW-La Crosse on Friday at 4 p.m.

Saturday is a busy day, starting with Women’s Tennis hosting UW-Stout and Mount Mary College beginning at 9 a.m.  Women’s Soccer entertains Marian University at 2 p.m. and the Football squad kicks off their season at 6 p.m. against the University of Chicago at Strong Stadium.  Volleyball is also in action on Saturday, playing two matches at the Monmouth College Tournament.

As a reminder to everyone heading down to Strong this week, per policies posted at the entrance to the complex, no animals are allowed inside the fenced area surrounding the Strong Stadium Complex. This includes both during scheduled events and when the Complex is empty. The Athletic Department apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your cooperation.
