The Art Department and the Wright Museum are happy to present this year’s Annual Juried Student Art Exhibition, opening Thursday.

The exhibition is open to all Beloit College students, so last week Beloiters from across campus delivered work to the Wright Museum to be juried. This year’s juror, Leslie Smith III, associate professor in painting and drawing at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, spent last Thursday afternoon reviewing the works, identifying the pieces that would make it into the show, and selecting those works to be awarded prizes. Smith is a painter and a native of the Washington, D.C., area with an M.F.A. from the Yale University School of Art.

The exhibit opens on Thursday (Nov. 14) at 4:30 p.m., so come down to the Wright Museum’s south gallery to see the exhibit, mingle with the artists, and find out who will be taking home the Juror’s Award.
