After graduating from Knox College in 2007, Mary Batterman served as a Peace Corps community health volunteer in Kilolo, a remote village in rural Tanzania. She has worked in the field of international development in Tanzania ever since, and has continued to raise funds and work with Kilolo village to undertake various health and education projects. Mary currently works with SolarAid, a British NGO that aims to increase the availability of affordable, portable solar lights for the 85% of the Tanzanian population who lack access to the electricity grid.
Refreshments and informal conversation will follow Mary's presentation.
This event is free and open to the campus and community.
