The Roy Chapman Andrews Society will host its 16th annual Distinguished Explorer Award celebratory dinner fundraiser on March 2nd, immediately following the acceptance lecture by the 2018 award recipient Richard Alley in the Sanger Science Center on Beloit College Campus at 6:30 p.m. Paid reservations are required and can be made via the Society website, www.roychapmanandrewssociety.org
Prior to the dinner, Richard Alley will give his acceptance lecture titled, “Ice is Nice: Through Deep Time to Our Future.” Alley is an internationally renowned geologist, glaciologist and science communicator, whose discoveries have led to ground-breaking advances in the understanding of rapid climate change and the stability of polar climates. The lecture will be at 4:30 p.m. at Wilson Theatre in Mayer Hall on the Beloit College Campus. The lecture is free and the public is welcomed.
