Ripon, WI -- Willow Macy, a freshman goalkeeper for the Beloit College Women's Soccer team from Almond, Wisconsin (The Putney School) has earned the Midwest Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week award for the week ending September 23.
Macy went 2-0-1 last week in net for the Bucs with a 0.62 goals-against-average, making 18 saves. She got her first collegiate shutout in a 0-0 overtime tie with Wisconsin Lutheran College on Wednesday, making 12 saves, and made six saves on Saturday in a 2-1 win at Cornell College that broke a two-season winless streak for the Buccaneers in MWC play. For the season she is 3-1-1 with a 1.72 gaa in seven games, six of them starts.
The Buccaneers continue in MWC play this week with three home matches, hosting Lake Forest College on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m., St. Norbert College at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday and Ripon College at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday. All games are at the Strong Complex Soccer Field.
