Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Women's Soccer team tried to climb out of a two-goal hole but ran out of time at the end of a 3-2 loss to Ripon College at the Strong Complex Soccer Field on Saturday.
The Buccaneers struck first in the game, with Erin Chambers scoring at 21:06 off an assist from Molly Dickson. RC evened it up five minutes later after a scramble in front of the net to set the score at 1-all at halftime.
The Redhawks took the lead at 64:38 of the second half and then added what proved to be the deciding goal nine minutes later.
Beloit kept working to get back in the game, finally pulling within a goal with under two minutes remaining. Liz Haan had the honors on a long pass from Kiera Hayes. But the Bucs couldn't get another shot.
The Bucs will look to rebound on Thursday night when they host Lakeland College in a 7:00 p.m. game at Strong Stadium.
