Beloit, WI -- Libby Storrick, a sophomore midfielder for the Beloit College Women's Lacrosse team from Coon Rapids, Minnesota, has been named the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending March 30. The Conference Office announced the recognition on Monday afternoon.
It's her second MWLC Player of the Week honor this season. She was named the Offensive Player of the Week on March 17.
Storrick helped lead the Buccaneers to MWLC wins over Loras and Fontbonne last week to raise the Buccaneers' record to 3-1 in league play. She tallied four caused turnovers, six draw controls, and seven ground balls in a 14-8 win at Loras Wednesday and added four caused turnovers, three ground balls, and one draw control in BC’s 17-6 home win over Fontbonne Sunday. For the week, Storrick totaled eight caused turnovers, 10 ground balls, and seven draw controls.
She is ranked 30th in NCAA Division III in caused turnovers and 40th in ground balls in the latest national statistics.
Beloit travels to Carthage College in Kenosha for a Conference clash Saturday at 12 noon.
