Monmouth, WI -- The Beloit College Women's Basketball team saw a close game slip away in the first half in a 78-53 loss at Monmouth College on Saturday afternoon.
The opening half was tight for the first nine minutes before Monmouth turned a one-point lead into a 10-point spread over an eight-minute span. MC led 36-30 at the break.
Beloit still trailed by just six at 47-41 at the 12:39 mark of the second half but the Fighting Scots out-scored the Bucs 12-3 in five minutes to push their advantage to 59-44 with 7:28 remaining. The Buccaneers got back as close as 10 with 4:19 left on a Lana Wieseman jumper, but that would be their final score of the contest as Monmouth scored the final 15 points of the game.
