Lake Forest, IL -- The Beloit College Women's Basketball team dropped a 76-56 decision at Lake Forest College on Tuesday night in a Midwest Conference game.
LFC jumped on top early, breaking away from a 4-4 tie with five straight points. But the Bucs answered with a 6-0 run to lead 10-9 midway through the opening half. The score was tied again at 16-all with 4:16 left before the Foresters made the deciding run of the game, outscoring Beloit 12-0 to lead 28-16 at the break.
The Lake Forest run continued into the second half, eventually reaching 18-0 before Kandace Fox halted the drought with two free throws at the 18:25 mark to cut the lead down to 34-18. LFC went up by 20 at 17:48 and had their largest lead at 57-31 with 9:49 remaining. The Buccaneers got no closer than 61-42 with 6:59 remaining.
Lauren McNanna had 11 points to lead Beloit. Taylor Grace Silar scored seven, as did Fox, who also grabbed seven rebounds. Jenna Larsen finished with a team-high nine rebounds.
The Bucs return to Flood Arena on Saturday afternoon to host Grinnell College in a 1:00 p.m. tip.
