De Pere, WI -- The Beloit College Women's Basketball team were pushed down but kept getting back up before finally falling at #18 St. Norbert College 65-52 on Wednesday night.
The Bucs were behind from the opening tip but finally grabbed the lead 16-14 on a Diana Sopkowicz layin at 6:19. SNC then went on a 14-0 run over the next five minutes to take charge. They led 31-19 at the break.
Beloit pulled back to within 31-25 four minutes into the second half but a Green Knight 20-9 run gave them a 51-34 advantage with 6:43 remaining. But the Bucs kept coming back and pulled to within 51-44 with ju8st under five minutes remaining, capping a 10-0 run. St. Norbert went back up by double figures before the Buccaneers pulled back to within seven at 54-47 with two minutes left. But that was as close as they would get.
Amanda Moore led the way with 14 points and nine rebounds, including hitting four three-pointers for the third straight game. Kandace Fox and Lauren McNanna each added 12. Sarah Stariha had six assists.
Beloit finally returns home after four games on the road when they host Lake Forest College at 5:30 p.m. on Friday night in Flood Arena.
