Monmouth, IL -- Turnovers proved to be the downfall for the Beloit College Women's Basketball team in their 80-64 loss at Monmouth College on Saturday afternoon.

The Buccaneers committed 28 for the game, 14 in each half.  But, more importantly, the Fighting Scots got 19 points off turnovers in the first half and 18 the same way in the second half.

MC raced away from a close game early with a 20-2 run that produced a 24-6 advantage at the 13:11 mark of the opening half.  The Bucs got the deficit back down to 13 at the eight-minute mark but Monmouth started to pull away on the way to a 48-31 lead at the break.

The Scots pushed their lead to 52-31 less than a minute into the second half but Beloit responded with a 13-2 run over the next three minutes to pull back within 10 at 54-44.  The Buccaneers pulled to within nine several times in the final ten minutes, the last with 8:42 left, before MC started to pull away and hold on for the win.

Amanda Moore had 14 points and seven rebounds to lead Beloit, including another four three-pointers.  Sarah Stariha added 11 points and Kandace Fox ten.

The Bucs stay on the road for one more game, playing at league-leading St. Norbert College on Wednesday night.  Game time is 5:00 p.m.
