Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Women's Basketball team fought the entire way but fell to Midwest Conference leader St. Norbert College 74-53 in Flood Arena on Wednesday night.
The Bucs gave the Green Knights all they could handle in the opening half, leading by as many as four during the opening nine minutes. But SNC got going a bit after Beloit led 16-12 at the 11:23 mark, going on a 17-5 run to take a 29-21 lead 5:42 before the break. St. Norbert led 33-27 at the half.
The Buccaneers got back to within three in the first minute of the second half before the Green Knights used an extended 18-6 run to take a 51-36 lead with 13:23 remaining. Beloit never got closer than 12 the rest of the way while SNC enjoyed their biggest leads of the game within the final four minutes, including a game-high 21-point spread in the final minute.
Kandace Fox led the Bucs with 19 points, including four three-pointers, while Amanda Moore and Diana Sopkowicz each had 13. Moore also grabbed a team-high seven rebounds.
Beloit now has a ten-day break for finals before hosting Lakeland College on Saturday, December 18. Tipoff is at 1:30 p.m.
