Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Women's Basketball have officially started their late-season drive after Saturday's come-from-behind 59-57 win over Grinnell College, their second MWC win in as many nights.

The Buccaneers started slow as the Pioneers grabbed a five-point lead five minutes into the game. But a 7-0 run put Beloit in front 12-10 four minutes later. Grinnell led 21-19 at the break.

GC jumped out of the lockerroom and, after a tight first five minutes of the second half, went on an11-5 run that gave them a 40-34 lead at the 11:20 mark. But again, the Buccaneers responded with a 6-0 run of their own to tie it up at 40-all just under the ten-minute mark.

The game stayed tight over the final ten minutes. Beloit finally took the lead for good with 55 seconds remaining on a jumper by Sarah Stariha. Stariha added a free throw with 38 seconds left for what turned out to be the final points.

The Pioneers missed a three-pointer at the buzzer that would have given them the win.

Stariha led the way with 14 points while Diana Sopkowicz added 12. Mary Parker had ten points, eight rebounds and six assists.

After the game, the two Buccaneer seniors - Parker and Allie Temkin - were recognized in a short ceremony.

The Bucs will have to continue their push on the road, playing at Carroll University on Wednesday night before traveling to conference-leader Ripon College next Saturday.
