Buccaneers Can't Get Over Hump at Aurora Tournament

Aurora, IL -- The Beloit College Volleyball team showed improvement but couldn't get that first win at the Aurora University Jim Coleman Memorial Tournament over the weekend.

The Bucs lost 3-0 to Roosevelt University (25-13, 25-13, 25-20) and 3-1 to Principia College (25-21, 26-28, 25-21, 25-15) on Friday.  On Saturday they fell 3-0 to North Central College (25-20, 25-15, 25-16) and 3-1 to Rockford College (22-25, 25-18, 25-15, 25-20)

Leah Kruckman had 33 kills on the weekend while Molly Schulting had 24.  Carolyn Stransky had 88 set assists.  Bethany Stavrakas and Juliann Gruenhagen each had four service aces.  Gruenhagen also had 59 digs while Stavrakas added 40.  Rachel Skoza had 13 total blocks, three solo.  Kruckman and Schulting each had 11.

Stransky was named to the eight-person All-Tournament Team.

Beloit has some days off before getting back on the court next weekend at the Alverno College Tournament in Milwaukee.
