Beloit, WI -- For the last three weeks the Beloit College Volleyball has been shining on the court. Problem is, it was everywhere but their home court.
The Bucs enjoyed the first home dual of the season on Tuesday night in Flood Arena, dispatching Aurora University 3-0.
Beloit battled themselves a bit in the first set after jumping up by as much as 10-2. The Spartans came back, mostly due to Buccaneer errors, and took a lead at 19-17. The score was still tied at 23-all before the Bucs grabbed the last two points for the win.
The second and third sets weren't nearly as close as Beloit allowed just 15 and 17 points, respectively.
Laura Toth and Tess Jacquez led the way with eight kills apiece while Mary Parker recorded seven. Caitlin O'Leary had 25 set assists. Esther Chiu made 22 digs and Parker 17 while Emma Kozera had three blocks, one solo.
the Buccaneers are back on the road this weekend as they open Midwest Conference play. They play at Monmouth College on Friday night at 7:00 p.m. and then travel to Jacksonville, Illinois, to take on Illinois College on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m.
