Bucs Set Four Karris Track Records; Men Finish Second, Women Fourth at Return of Beloit Relays

Beloit, WI -- The long-awaited return of Spring coincided with the Return of the Beloit Relays over the weekend and the Beloit College Track & Field team enjoyed their time in the sun, with the Men finishing second in the team race while the Women were fourth.

The Buccaneers set four Karris Track & Field records over the two-day event and one school record also fell.

Felicia Carlson won twice, taking the 100m and 200m, breaking the Karris record in both events.  She also broke Tanishka Armbrister's 2010 record in the 200m, running a :26.14 to top Armbrister's :26.33.

Also setting facility marks were Karen Jones in the 3000m Steeplechase and the Women's 4x100m Relay of Carlson, Rachel Monroe, Nadia Hecker-O'Brien and Angie Earley.

Joe Skurski won the 10000m and the Men's 4x200m Relay of Mat Kahl, Matthew Kreiser, Tyler Coleman and Peter Siess also crossed the finish line first.

Earning second-place finishes for the Bucs were Anna Wenzel in the 10000m; Matt McKay in the 3000m Steeplechase; Darth Winkler in the Discus; Mateo Lauersdorf in the Javelin; Hecker-O'Brien in the 800m; Kreiser in the 400m Hurdles; and Skurski in the 5000m.

Medaling for third place were Jones in the 5000m; Myles Schneider in the Hammer; Maddie Cress in the 10000m; Monroe in the Triple Jump; Erika Moen in the Discus; the Women's 4x200m and 4x800m Relays and the Men's 4x400m Relay.

St. Ambrose University won both ends of the team race.

Beloit travels to Carroll University next Saturday for the Pioneer Invite, their final tune-up before hosting the Midwest Conference Outdoor Championships on May 10-11.
