Towns, Williams Score Firsts at University of Chicago Invite

Chicago, IL -- The Beloit College Track & Field team had their first Northern meet of the Outdoor season as the Men finished eighth and the Women tenth at the University of Chicago Ted Haydon Invite on Saturday.

Travis Towns and Kenny Williams both recorded first-place finishes to lead the Bucs, Towns winning the Javelin and Williams the 400m Hurdles.

Also getting points for Beloit were Erika Moen, second in the Discus and fifth in the Hammer; Kiera Hayes, fifth in the 400m; Catherine Jensen, fifth in the High Jump; Ali Abdi, sixth in the Triple Jump; and Aaron Joiner, seventh in the 400m.

The Men's 4x100m Relay of Abdi, Ken Andejeski, Mikile Baker and Nolan Byrom finished fourth and the Women's 4x100m Relay of Hayes, Jensen, Erin Chambers and Ellie Daniels eighth.

The Buccaneers are back on the track next Saturday when they compete at the Carroll University Pioneer Invite in Waukesha.
