Chicago, IL -- After a long break, the Beloit College Track & Field team finally got back out on the track, competing at the University of Chicago Ted Hayden Classic on Saturday.
Both teams finished third out of 11 competing teams.
Katie Schurr stood out for the Women's squad, winning the High Jump, finishing third in the 100m and fourth in the 200m.
Tanishka Armbrister finished second in the 400m while Erika Moen was second in the Discus.
Also earning points for the Women were Anna Blankschien, fourth in the 400m; Amani Edwards, seventh in both the Shot Put and Hammer; Linnea Joffe-Nelson, eighth in the 100m; Julie Stutzbach, eighth in the 1500m; and Molly Hill, seventh in the Discus. Moen also finished eighth in the Javelin.
The Women's 4x100m Relay was second and the 4x400m Relay fourth.
Travis Towns paced the Men's squad with a second-place finish in the Javelin.
Also scoring points for the Men were Jared Wynne, fourth in the 3000m Steeplechase; Matt Kahl, fifth in the 200m and sixth in the Long Jump; Aaron Joiner, fifth in the 400m; Matt Kees, fourth in the 400m; and Sherrick O'Quinn, sixth in the Triple Jump.
The Men's 4x100m Relay was second and the 4x400m relay sixth.
The Bucs will compete at the Carroll University Pioneer Invite on Saturday. Action begins at 10:00 a.m. Saturday.
