Grinnell, IA -- The Beloit College Swimming & Diving team set two more records and also made a move in the standings after day two of the Midwest Conference Swimming & Diving Championships.
The Women's squad, on the strength of a pair of top-eight finishes, moved up two spots to sixth place while the Men jumped up one spot to seventh.
Shaunte Moss broke her own record in the 100 Breast in the prelims on Saturday morning and then broke it again in the finals with a 1:09.39, good for fifth place.
Dana Olesch broke her own 100 Fly record with a 1:00.30 fifth-place finish in the finals.
Other individuals who earned points for the Bucs on Saturday included Will McAneny, ninth in the 400 IM; Austin Smith, 11th in the 100 Fly; Jon Kamada, 12th in the 400 IM; Nora Holte, 13th in the 100 Breast; Spencer Moore, 15th in the 100 Back; Laurel Marshall, 16th in the 400 IM; and Arthur Staub, 16th in the 200 Free.
The Men's 800 Free Relay of McAneny, Staub, Kamada and Smith was fourth; the Men's and Women's 200 Medley Relay and the Women's 800 Free Relay all finished seventh. The Men's 200 Medley Relay was made up of Moore, Charlie Hawks, Kyle May and Matt Sherrell; the Women's 200 Medley Relay foursome was Amalia Dolan, Moss, Olesch and Holte; and the Women's 800 Free Relay was Hannah Devereaux, Dolan, Haleigh Thomas and Gina Widmer.
The Championships conclude on Sunday, with the prelims beginning at 9:00 a.m. and the finals at 4:00 p.m.
