Buccaneers Finish Fifth at Private Schools Meet

Kenosha, WI -- Both the Men and Women finished fifth for the Beloit College Swimming & Diving team at the Wisconsin Private Colleges Meet on Saturday, held at Carthage College in Kenosha.

Six swimmers recorded a pair of top-ten finishes for Beloit.

Getting those doubles for the Women were Beth Remington, fourth in the 200 Breast and seventh in the 100 Breast; Connie Meltzer, seventh in both the 100 and 200 Back; and Yuki Takahashi, fifth in the 400 IM and ninth in the 200 Fly.

Earning top-ten finishes for the Women were Griselle Quinones, eighth in the 200 Fly; Laurel Marshall, sixth in the 200 Breast; Catherine Cochran, eighth in the 200 Back; and Kendall Stauffacher, ninth in the 200 Breast.

Earning two top-ten finishes for the Men were Greg Schalla, fifth in the 1650 Free and eighth in the 500 Free; Patrick Duvall, fifth in both the 50 and 100 Free; and Sam Maynard, fourth in the 400 IM and fifth in the 200 Fly.

The Bucs are back in the pool next Saturday against Knox College in Kresge Natatorium as they recognize the nine 2010-11 seniors.  Action begins at 1:00 p.m.

Recording a top-ten finish for the Men was Arthur Staub in the 200 Free.
