Buccaneer Women 4th, Men 5th at Augie Invite

Rock Island, IL -- The Beloit College Swimming & Diving teams finished up the 2009 portion of their schedule on Friday and Saturday with the Women finishing 4th and the Men 5th at the Augustana College Invite.

Marin Matchinske-Brehmer led the Women with top-five places in four events plus a spot in three top-five relays.

Matchinske-Brehmer was second in the 50 Free, third in the 200 IM, fourth in the 100 Free and fifth in the 100 Back while also leading off the fourth-place 400 Medley and 800 Free relays and anchoring the fifth-place 200 Medley relay.

Katie Wolf was fourth in the 100 Breast and fifth in the 1650 Free while also swimming in the three top-five relays and Emily Law was fourth in the 200 Fly and swam in the three relays.

For the Men, Patrick Duvall recorded second-place finishes in the 200 Fly, 100 Back and 100 Fly. Paden Debois was fifth in the 100 Breast and Greg Schalla third in the 1650 Free.

The Bucs now have a long break before getting back into competition on January 16 when they host Carroll University, Ripon College and North Central College at the Kresge Natatorium.
