Director of Athletics & Recreation

Tim Schmiechen became the head coach of the Buccaneer Men’s Soccer program prior to the 1990 season.  He was named the Director of Athletics & Recreation in late September of 2014 after serving for eight years as the Associate Director of Athletics.

During his 20-plus seasons he has become the winningest coach in Midwest Conference history for both overall and conference victories.  Fourteen of his 23 teams have qualified for the MWC Tournament and, in 2006, the team won their first MWC Championship in 32 years.

Schmiechen has earned five Midwest Conference Coach of the Year awards, the most recent in 2006, and has coached 14 All-Midwest Region players during his tenure with the Buccaneers.

He graduated from Ohio Wesleyan in 1985 with a degree in physical education. After graduation, he earned his master’s degree in exercise science from the University of Massachusetts. While at Massachusetts, he was the assistant men’s coach for the NCAA Division I soccer program.
