[Terry Owens]Director of Sports Information
Terry Owens became Beloit College’s Director of Sports Information prior to the 2006-07 academic year.
A veteran of nearly 30 years in athletic administration, Owens has been in the Sports Information profession since 1983. He has worked at Rockford College, Wisconsin-Platteville and Wisconsin-Stevens Point prior to coming to Beloit. He also served as the Director of Athletics at Pacelli High School in Stevens Point for five years.
Owens is a member of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and has earned nearly 50 Certificates of Excellence for his publications, including 16 Best in the Nation honors.
He was a Press Operations Steward for Baseball during the Centennial Olympic Games in Atlanta in 1996. He was also a Public Relations Liaison for the Chicago Bears Summer Training Camps at Wisconsin-Platteville from 1985-90 and for the Jacksonville Jaguars inaugural training camp at Wisconsin-Stevens Point in 1995.
He was the Director of Information for the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association for four years and has been the Assistant Championships Director for both NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field and Wrestling. He was also the Public Relations Director for five NCAA Division III Hockey Championships, as well as the Media Contact for the 2010 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships, which Beloit College co-hosted in Minneapolis.
