De Pere, WI -- The Beloit College Softball team fell twice at St. Norbert College on Saturday afternoon, 9-0 and 9-1.
In the opener, the Green Knights broke up a scoreless game with four runs in the third and then added five in the fourth. The game was called after five innings by the eight-run rule.
Beloit had two hits, both in the third inning. Kourtney Kingslien and Katy Sandt each had singles but the Bucs couldn't get the one additional hit they needed.
In game two SNC jumped out with a four-run first. The Buccaneers cut into the lead in the third when Kingslien, who singled to lead off the inning, scored on the front end of a double steal with Sarah Stariha.
St. Norbert tacked on four more runs in the bottom of the third and then got a single run in the sixth to end the game early.
Stariha finished with two hits.
Sandt recorded nine strikeouts in the two games, five in the opener and four in relief in game two, to move into a tie for second in career strikeouts for Beloit with Jamie Cassette. Both have 340.
The Bucs close out the 2011 season on Sunday with a doubleheader at the University of Chicago. Game time is at 1:00 p.m.
