Lisle, IL -- The Beloit College Women's Lacrosse team got off to a quick start and never looked back in a 19-4 Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference win at Benedictine University on Sunday afternoon.
The Bucs scored all seven goals in the opening half to take a 7-0 lead into halftime. Sara Fithian scored three times while Erin Chambers had two goals in the first 30 minutes. Sam Schonberger and Caitlin Paterson had the other tallies.
The Eagles finally got on the board early in the second half before Chambers and Fithian each scored again. After another BU goal Ellie Daniels and Chambers kept going with the two for one goal exchange.
After Benedictine scored a third goal at the 17:24 mark the Buccaneers rattled off six unanswered scores - three more from Fithian, two more from Chambers and a second one from Paterson - to make it a 17-3 game with five minutes left. The Eagles got their final score at 4:06 before Sarah Pipal closed it out with back-to-back goals in the final 1:41.
Fithian finished with seven goals on the day while Chambers had six with an assist. Michelle Dillon made six saves in net for the victory.
Beloit stays on the road for one more game, playing at Concordia University in Mequon on Thursday at 5:00 p.m.
