Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Women's Tennis team finally completed what was supposed to be a three-matches-in-four-days opening weekend on Wednesday in a 7-2 loss to Wisconsin Lutheran College at the Strong Complex Tennis Courts.
The Wisconsin Lutheran match was originally scheduled for Monday but was rained out and rescheduled for Wednesday. The Bucs fell to a pair of strong squads to open the season, 9-0 to UW-La Crosse last Friday and 9-0 to UW-Stevens Point on Saturday morning.
Against WLC, Trina Capelli figured in both points for the Buccaneers, teaming with Alexandra Kurpiel to post an 8-5 win at #1 Doubles and then going it alone for a 6-0, 4-1, retired win at #1 Singles.
All three Doubles matches were close while three of the six Singles matches were also close.
Beloit has a few days off to prepare for their next matches as they hit the road for the first time this season, playing Milwaukee School of Engineering and Alverno College at Nicolet High School in Glendale, Wisconsin, on Sunday. The MSOE match begins at 10:00 a.m. followed by the Viterbo match.
