The Beloit College Softball team will be hosting four clinics during the months of January and February. All clinics are geared toward fastpitch softball players in the third through 12th grades and will be held at the Beloit College Sports Center and Marvin Fieldhouse on campus.
The Catching Clinic, which will be limited to 15 catchers per session, is scheduled for Sunday, January 26, from 12:30-4:00 p.m. The clinic will focus on all of the fundamental skills and catching strategies. Cost for the clinic is $40.
The Hitting Clinic, which will be held on Sunday, February 9, features two sessions and will be limited to 40 hitters per session. Session 1 is scheduled for 12-2:30 p.m. and is for 4th-7th grade players. Session 2 is from 3-5:30pm and is for 8th-12th grade players. This year’s hitting clinic will focus on fundamentals and mechanics of hitting. The techniques of hitting and bunting will be covered along with Tee drills, soft toss drills, machine drills, working the count and how to develop strength as a hitter. Cost for the clinic is $30.
The Defensive Strategies Clinic for grades 3-7 will be on February 16, from 12-2:30 p.m. This clinic will focus on fielding, throwing, communication drills and defensive strategy for both the infield and outfield. Enrollment for this clinic is limited to the first 40 preregistered players. The cost for this clinic is $35.
(THIS CLINIC IS FULL)The Advanced Defensive Strategies Clinic for grades 8-12 will be held on February 16, from 3-5:30 p.m. This clinic will focus on position play, fielding/throwing combination work, exchanges, bunt defense, 1st and 3rd situations and infield/outfield communication. Enrollment for this clinic is limited to the first 40 preregistered players. The cost for this clinic is $35.
Participants receive a clinic t-shirt with registration fees.
