Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Track & Field team turned in some good performances as the 2013 Midwest Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships wrapped up at Karris Track & Field at Strong Stadium on Saturday.
In the final team totals, the Buccaneer Women finished ninth while the Men were tenth. Monmouth College won both the Women's and Men's meets for the eighth straight year.
Felicia Carlson earned a spot as one of the Female Track Performers of the Meet with a win in the 100m and a runner-up finish in the 200m. She ran a school-record :12.05 in the 100m in a come-from-behind win, breaking her own record. She also broke her own Beloit record in 200m, crossing in :25.10.
Also getting a spot on the awards podium for the Bucs were Matthew Kreiser, third in the 400m Hurdles, and Myles Schneider, who also took a third in the Hammer.
Also scoring points for Beloit on Saturday were Nadia Hecker-O'Brien, fifth in the 800m; Karen Jones, fifth in the 3000m Steeplechase and eighth in the 1500m; the Women's 4x100m Relay of Rachel Monroe, Hecker-O'Brien, Angie Earley and Carlson, who came in sixth; Darth Winkiler, seventh in the discus; the Men's 4x100m Relay of Mat Kahl, Tyler Coleman, Peter Siess and Antonio Jones, who finished seventh; and the Women's 4x400m Relay of Hecker-O'Brien, Camilla Jackson, Catherine Cochrane and Alex Hinck, who finished eighth.
Scoring points for the Buccaneers on the first day of the meet Friday were Erika Moen, fifth in the Discus; Matt Floyd, seventh in the Pole Vault; Jason Busack, seventh in the Javelin; Karen Jones, eighth in the 1500m; and Anna Wenzel, eighth in the 10000m.
