Buccaneer Women Win Knox Indoor Open, Men 4th

Galesburg, IL -- The Beloit College Indoor Track & Field continued their push toward the MWC Championships on Saturday at the Knox College Indoor Open, with the Women's squad winning the title while the Men finished fourth.

Felicia Carlson won the 60m and Karen Jones took the 3000m to pace the Women.  The 4x200m Relay of Rachel Monroe, Rasheda Hughes, Sudan Garner and Nadia Hecker-O'Brien also took first.

Second-place finishes were brought home by Monroe in the 200m and Triple Jump; Anna Wenzel in the Mile; Sara DeLong in the 3000m; Karly Clippinger in the High Jump; and Carlson in the Long Jump.  Earning thirds were Hecker-O'Brien in the 800m; Camilla Jackson in the Mile; Margaret Cress in the 3000m; and Erika Moen in the Weight Throw.

Four third-place finishes paced the Men's squad as Turner Smith was third in the 3000m; George Gray third in the High Jump and Mat Kahl third in the Long Jump.  The 4x200m Relay team of Antonio Jones, Peter Siess, Gray and Matt Kreiser also finished third.

The Bucs head North next Saturday for the UW-Stevens Point Eastbay Invite.  Action begins at 10:30 a.m.
