Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Women's Basketball team dropped a heartbreaker in Flood Arena on Tuesday night 60-59 to St. Norbert College on a pair of free throws in the final seconds.

SNC started hot and jumped out to an 8-0 lead after two-plus minutes.  But the Buccaneers responded with a 12-0 run over the next four minutes to go on top and then put a 9-3 run on top of that to lead 21-11 midway through the half.  The Green Knights pulled back within four on a quick 6-0 run but Beloit closed out the half with a 12-5 spurt to lead 33-22 at the break.

The Bucs kept it up early in the second half and got their largest lead of the game at 40-26 three minutes in.  But an 11-0 St. Norbert run over the next five minutes pulled them back within 40-37 with 12:22 left.  Beloit got their lead back out to 45-39 before SNC answered with a 7-1 run to tie it up at 46-all with 8:51 remaining.  Neither team could pull in front by more than three down the stretch.  The Buccaneers took a 59-58 lead with 21 seconds left on a Lauren McNanna free throw.  But the Green Knights drew a foul with six ticks left and made both free throws to go up 60-59.  A desperation shot by McNanna at the buzzer went off the rim to end it.

After hitting 14-33 shots to help build their first half lead Beloit went cold in the second 20 minutes, hitting just eight of 23 attempts to finish at 39.3% for the game.

Lana Wieseman had 19 points and eight rebounds while Taylor Grace Silar scored a career-high 13.  Jenna Larsen added a team-high nine rebounds while both McNanna and Kandace Fox had four assists.

The Buccaneers hit the road for a Saturday afternoon game at Monmouth College.  Tipoff is at 1:00 p.m.
