Bucs Clinch Spot in MWC Tournament with Win at Knox

Galesburg, IL -- The Beloit College Men's Soccer team clinched a spot in the upcoming Midwest Conference Tournament with a 4-3 win at Knox College on Sunday.

The Tourney appearance will be the 14th in head coach Tim Schmiechen's 23 seasons.  The Tournament will be played at Lake Forest College on November 2-3.

Anthony Racine got the Bucs going, assisted by Ryan Munger, just under two minutes into the match.  Knox tied it up five minutes later before Marc Robinson gave Beloit a 2-1 lead at the half with an unassisted goal at 29:16.

KC tied it up again at 51:44 before Robinson took over.  He scored his second goal of the game at the 54:58 mark, assisted by Duncan Gillis, and then completed his second hat trick of the season unassisted at 57:23 to put the Buccaneers up 4-2.  The Prairie Fire pulled back within a goal at 82:54 but Beloit held on down the stretch.

BJ Kiser made four saves in net for the win.

The Bucs have a week before closing out their regular season at Lawrence University next Saturday.  Kickoff is at 2:30 p.m.
