Beloit, WI -- With the temperature at 93, and the heat index likely much higher, the Beloit College Men's Soccer team fought their way to a 1-0 win over Wisconsin Lutheran College in the season opener at the Strong Complex Soccer Field on Thursday.

Jackson Wilkins scored the only goal of the game, off an assist from Tony Racine, with just over 20 minutes left in regulation.  They then held off the Warriors down the stretch for the win.

BJ Kiser made three saves in each half to record his first collegiate win and shutout.

Beloit out-shot WLC 17-9, including 8-4 in the second half.

The Buccaneers hit the road for their next game, playing at Edgewood College in Madison on Sunday night.  Kickoff is at 7:00 p.m.
