Lake Forest, IL -- The Beloit College Men's Basketball team dropped their Midwest Conference opener at Lake Forest College on Sunday 79-64.
The Foresters took charge late in the first half. Beloit led 26-25 with 3:47 left before a 13-4 run by LFC made it 38-30 at the break.
Lake Forest kept their run going to open the second half, scoring the first ten points to move up 48-30 with 17:50 remaining. But the Bucs put together a 16-6 run to pull back within 54-46 with 12:03 still left in the contest.
The run was short-lived as LFC responded with a 16-7 run to push their lead back up to 17 with just just under six minutes left. Beloit never got closer than 14 the rest of the way.
Michael Horton had 11 points with eight assists. David Bremner added ten points.
Beloit has a week to regroup before taking on Monmouth College in Monmouth, Illinois, on Friday. Game time is at 7:00 p.m.
