The college will test its emergency alert system on Wednesday (Sept. 2) at 12:30 p.m. As a part of the test, all faculty, staff, and students should receive an email, phone call, and text message at or around the common hour.

Buccaneer Drought Hits Four in Loss at Lawrence

Appleton, WI -- The Beloit College Men's Basketball team couldn't get themselves on track Saturday afternoon, falling at Lawrence University 63-42 for their fourth straight setback.

Beloit led midway through the opening half, turning an 8-7 deficit into a 15-9 lead with an 8-1 run at the 11:38 mark.  But LU got back in it, going on a six-minute 10-4 run that tied the game at 19-all with 5:11 remaining.  The Vikings then closed the half on a 12-5 run to take a 31-24 advantage into the break.

Lawrence maintained their cushion through the first five minutes of the second half, leading 39-31 at the 14:27 mark.  They then went on a 20-8 run over the next ten-plus minutes to take complete control, leading 59-39.  The biggest lead was 23 at 63-40 with 23 seconds left.

Michael Horton led Beloit with 11 points while David Bremner, battling foul trouble, had ten.  Tyler Butke chipped in seven.

The Buccaneers have the week to regroup before getting back on the court on Friday at Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois.  Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
